Yes, Rejuran is commonly combined with Botox-type neurotoxins, hyaluronic acid filler, and Sculptra. Treatment success depends on timing. At Aesura, our specialists apply Rejuran topically during microneedling, which opens tiny channels in the skin. The process requires its own window, usually about two weeks away from any injectable, rather than the same appointment.
Key takeaways
- Each treatment works on a different layer: muscle, volume, collagen, or skin quality. That is why they combine well.
- Rejuran at Aesura is delivered topically with microneedling, not injected, so needle work on the skin surface has to be timed around injectables.
- A conservative rule: keep Rejuran microneedling and any injectable about two weeks apart, in either direction.
- Aesura asks patients to skip microneedling for two weeks after filler.
- Neurotoxin usually goes first, filler for fine detail usually goes last, and Sculptra and Rejuran sessions can alternate in between.
- Your provider will set exact timing based on your skin, your goals, and how you heal.
Why These Treatments Combine Well
Facial aging is not one problem. Muscles pull the skin into lines. Fat pads and bone lose volume. Collagen thins. The skin surface loses its elasticity and smooth texture.
No single treatment addresses all four. A neurotoxin cannot restore volume. Filler cannot fix crepey skin. Rejuran does not relax a frown. Combining them lets each serve its primary function, often at lower doses than for individual treatment programs.
That fits how we work at Aesura. We measure, we don’t guess. We dose conservatively, and we plan the order before the first appointment.
The four layers, in plain terms
| Treatment | Layer it targets | What it does | How results show up |
|---|---|---|---|
| Neurotoxin (Jeuveau, Letybo) | Muscle | Softens movement that creates expression lines | Starts in 3 to 7 days, peaks around 2 weeks, lasts 3 to 4 months |
| Hyaluronic acid filler | Volume and contour | Restores or shapes volume in a specific spot | Visible right away once swelling settles; lasts 6 to 18 months |
| Sculptra (PLLA) | Collagen and gradual volume | Stimulates your own collagen across a broad area | Builds over 3 to 6 months; can last up to 2 years |
| Rejuran microneedling | Skin quality | Polynucleotides plus microneedling support texture, fine lines, and laxity | Gradual over a series of 3 sessions |
Why Rejuran Needs Its Own Window
Rejuran is a polynucleotide treatment. Polynucleotides (PN) are long chains of DNA fragments purified from salmon. In many countries, Rejuran is injected. In the US, injectable Rejuran is not FDA-approved for cosmetic use.
Instead, our Rejuran microneedling treatment applies Rejuran topically while a microneedling device creates thousands of tiny channels. Those channels help the product reach deeper than a cream would. They also trigger the skin’s own repair response.
That is why timing matters. Microneedling involves pressure, gliding motion, and open channels across the face. Microneedling over fresh injections raises a few practical concerns:
- Displacement. Fresh filler or Sculptra has not settled yet. Pressure and motion over the area could, in theory, shift product.
- Neurotoxin spread. Aftercare for neurotoxin asks you not to rub the area for 4 hours. Microneedling is the opposite of that.
- Infection risk. Open microchannels next to fresh injection points add an avoidable route for bacteria.
- Swelling hides the truth. Microneedling causes 24 to 48 hours of redness and mild swelling. That makes it hard to judge how much filler you really need.
Many of these concerns are precautionary. But spacing costs little, and it keeps each treatment result easier to predict.
Sequencing Guide: What Goes First and How Long to Wait
Published guidance on exact intervals between polynucleotide microneedling and injectables is limited. The table below reflects conservative, common clinical practice and Aesura’s own aftercare rules. Your provider will set exact timing.
| Combination | Usual order | Conservative spacing | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rejuran + neurotoxin | Neurotoxin first | About 2 weeks after toxin; if Rejuran comes first, wait 1 to 2 weeks before toxin | Lets toxin settle and reach peak; avoids rubbing a fresh treatment |
| Rejuran + HA filler | Rejuran first, or filler first with a gap | 2 weeks after filler (Aesura rule); about 2 weeks after Rejuran before filler | Protects fresh filler; lets swelling clear so volume is judged accurately |
| Rejuran + Sculptra | Alternate sessions | About 2 weeks either way | Sculptra needs undisturbed time and post-treatment massage |
| Neurotoxin + HA filler | Toxin first or same visit | Often same day; some providers separate by 1 to 2 weeks | Relaxed muscles can make filler placement more precise |
| Neurotoxin + Sculptra | Either | Often same visit or close together | Different layers and different goals |
| Sculptra + HA filler | Sculptra first | Filler after Sculptra has had time to build | Sculptra adds broad support; filler adds detail where still needed |
If you also plan laser work, add another layer of planning. For example, Aesura places neurotoxin and filler at least 2 weeks before Fraxel and waits 4 weeks after Fraxel before injectables.
Rejuran and Neurotoxin (Botox-Type Treatments)
Many people search for “Botox,” but Aesura uses Jeuveau and Letybo. Both are botulinum toxin type A. They relax specific muscles to soften dynamic lines. Our approach is rested, not frozen.
Neurotoxins and Rejuran do very different jobs. Toxins reduce the folds that etch lines into the skin. Rejuran works on the skin itself: texture, fine lines, crepiness, and firmness. Together, they can address both the cause of fine lines and the quality of the surrounding skin.
A typical order is neurotoxin first. The effect peaks around two weeks, and Aesura includes a two-week follow-up for touch-ups. Rejuran microneedling can follow. If you have a Rejuran session first, most providers wait one to two weeks before injecting toxin, so redness and swelling have cleared.
Rejuran and Hyaluronic Acid Filler
Hyaluronic acid filler restores volume with precision. Think tear troughs, cheeks, lips, jawline, or chin. Aesura uses the Restylane and Juvederm families, which are reversible with hyaluronidase. We do not use permanent fillers.
Filler and Rejuran complement each other well. Filler lifts and supports. Rejuran improves the skin draped over that support. Under the eyes, for example, filler can soften a hollow while Rejuran addresses thin, crepey skin on the surface.
The firm rule here comes from our dermal filler aftercare: skip facials, lasers, and microneedling for two weeks after filler. That gives the product time to integrate. If you start with Rejuran, we generally wait about two weeks before filler. That way swelling is gone, and we are not placing filler into puffy tissue.
Many patients find that improving skin quality first means they need less filler. That is not guaranteed, but it is one reason we often put detail filler near the end of a plan.
Rejuran and Sculptra
Sculptra is poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biostimulator. It was first approved by the FDA in 2004, originally to restore facial fat loss. Instead of filling a spot, it prompts your body to build collagen gradually over a broad area.
Sculptra and Rejuran both work over time, but at different depths. Sculptra treatment is placed deeper to rebuild structural support in areas like the mid-face and temples. Rejuran works closer to the surface on texture, fine lines, and glow.
Both are done as a series. Sculptra is usually 2 to 4 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. Rejuran is 3 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart. That makes them easy to alternate, with about two weeks between visits.
The spacing matters for Sculptra in particular. After treatment, patients massage the area to help the product spread evenly. Microneedling over freshly placed Sculptra could interfere, and tenderness or bruising can still be present. Waiting about two weeks either way is a conservative approach.
A Sample 3 to 6 Month Combined Plan
This is an example only. Many patients need fewer steps. Some need a different order. We build each plan after an in-person assessment and adjust it as results develop.
| When | Treatment | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Week 0 | Consultation and neurotoxin | Photos and goals; conservative toxin dosing |
| Week 2 | Toxin follow-up, then Rejuran session 1 | Touch-up first if needed; microneedling once toxin has settled |
| Week 4 | Sculptra session 1 | About 2 weeks after Rejuran; massage at home afterward |
| Week 6 | Rejuran session 2 | 4 weeks after session 1; 2 weeks after Sculptra |
| Week 8 to 10 | Sculptra session 2 | 4 to 6 weeks after session 1 |
| Week 10 to 12 | Rejuran session 3 | Completes the series; at least 2 weeks after Sculptra |
| Month 4 | Neurotoxin maintenance; reassess Sculptra | A third Sculptra session only if needed |
| Month 5 to 6 | HA filler for detail, if still needed | Sculptra results have had time to build; then quarterly Rejuran maintenance at least 2 weeks after filler |
What the Evidence Says (and Doesn’t)
Neurotoxins, HA filler, and Sculptra each have established clinical track records. Polynucleotides are newer in the US. A 2024 review of polynucleotides in aesthetic medicine found mixed results. Some studies reported significant improvements in skin elasticity and hydration. Others showed limited benefit. The authors concluded that more research is needed on how polynucleotides work and how best to use them.
Most published polynucleotide studies looked at injected products, not topical use with microneedling. Evidence on the topical approach is still developing. Data on exact intervals between polynucleotide treatments and injectables is also limited. That is why we lean conservative on spacing.
Results vary between patients. We set expectations at consultation and track progress with photos.
Who Should and Shouldn’t Combine These Treatments
A combined plan tends to suit people with more than one concern. For example, frown lines plus dull skin, or mid-face volume loss plus crepey under-eyes. It also suits people who prefer gradual, subtle changes spread over months.
Rejuran microneedling is not right for everyone. We avoid or delay it with:
- An active rosacea flare, skin infection, or recent sunburn
- Isotretinoin use within the past 6 months
- Pregnancy
- Immunosuppression
- A history of keloid scarring
- A salmon or fish allergy, which you should always disclose
Each injectable has its own screening. Filler carries a small risk of injection into a blood vessel, which is serious and needs urgent care. Sculptra is not reversible and can rarely cause nodules. We dose it conservatively in stages. Neurotoxin can occasionally cause temporary drooping or asymmetry.
Expected side effects are usually mild: 24 to 48 hours of redness after Rejuran, and bruising, swelling, or tenderness after injectables. Stacking treatments too closely can overlap these effects. Spacing visits keeps recovery simpler and makes it easier to tell which treatment caused what.

Answers to Your Rejuran Treatment Timeline Questions
Can I get Rejuran and Botox on the same day?
We generally do not recommend it. Neurotoxin aftercare asks you not to rub the area for 4 hours, and microneedling involves pressure and motion across the face. A gap of about two weeks after toxin is a common, conservative choice. Your provider will set exact timing.
How long after filler can I have Rejuran microneedling?
Aesura asks patients to skip microneedling for two weeks after filler. That gives the filler time to settle and lowers the chance of disturbing it. Some areas or larger treatments may call for a longer wait.
Should I get Rejuran before or after filler?
Either can work with proper spacing. Many plans place Rejuran first, because better skin quality may reduce how much filler you need. If filler comes first, wait at least two weeks before Rejuran.
Can Rejuran replace filler?
Not for volume. Rejuran improves skin quality, such as texture, fine lines, and crepiness. It does not restore lost volume the way hyaluronic acid filler or Sculptra can. The two do different jobs.
Is Rejuran similar to Sculptra?
Both are regenerative and work gradually, but they differ. Sculptra is PLLA placed deeper to stimulate collagen and restore broad support. Rejuran is a polynucleotide applied topically with microneedling to improve the skin surface. Many patients benefit from both.
Can I do Sculptra and Rejuran in the same series?
Yes. Because Sculptra sessions are 4 to 6 weeks apart and Rejuran sessions are 4 weeks apart, we can alternate them. Keeping about two weeks between each visit is a conservative approach.
Does microneedling affect how long Botox lasts?
There is no good evidence that properly spaced microneedling shortens neurotoxin results. The concern is mainly doing them too close together while the toxin is still settling. Spacing avoids that question entirely.
How many appointments does a combined plan take?
It depends on your goals. A full plan might include 3 Rejuran sessions, 2 to 3 Sculptra sessions, neurotoxin every 3 to 4 months, and filler once if needed. Many patients choose only two of these treatments.
What if I have a salmon or fish allergy?
Rejuran’s polynucleotides come from salmon DNA, so a physician should review any fish allergy first. We may suggest an alternative skin-quality treatment.
