Answer at a glance

What is red light therapy?

Red light therapy (RLT), also called photobiomodulation, uses specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light (typically 630 to 850 nm) to stimulate the mitochondria — the energy-producing engines inside your cells. At Aesura Health’s Longevity Lounge in Hackensack, NJ, we use a full-body professional red light panel for skin quality, recovery, inflammation, mood, and longevity support. Most patients use red light therapy 3 to 5 times per week in 10 to 20 minute sessions.

Red light therapy is one of the most evidence-backed wellness tools we offer. It works at the cellular level — feeding your mitochondria the wavelengths they respond to — and the downstream benefits show up everywhere from skin to sleep to recovery. At our Hackensack Longevity Lounge, we use a clinical-grade full-body panel that delivers the optimized wavelengths and irradiance needed to actually move the needle.

What red light therapy is

Red light therapy delivers specific wavelengths of red (typically 630 to 660 nm) and near-infrared (810 to 850 nm) light into the body. These wavelengths reach the mitochondria — the cellular structures that produce energy in the form of ATP — and signal them to work more efficiently.

The result is a cascade of downstream benefits: more cellular energy, less oxidative stress, increased collagen production, improved circulation, and faster tissue repair. Researchers also call this photobiomodulation or PBM.

What we use red light therapy for

Skin quality and collagen building
Recovery from training and travel
Joint and muscle pain
Chronic inflammation
Sleep quality and circadian rhythm support
Mood and seasonal energy dips
Wound healing
Hair restoration support alongside our PRP and GHK-Cu protocols

Patients on our longevity programs frequently use red light therapy as a baseline weekly practice — alongside hormone optimization, peptide therapy, and NAD+ infusions.

Our equipment — full-body professional panel

We use a clinical-grade full-body red light panel (not a handheld or low-irradiance home device). Our panel delivers both red and near-infrared wavelengths at therapeutic irradiance, which means you get a meaningful dose in 10 to 20 minutes rather than the hour-plus required by lower-output devices.

Sessions take place in a private suite in our Hackensack Longevity Lounge.

What to expect at your session

You’ll change into minimal clothing or undergarments to maximize skin exposure to the light. We provide protective eyewear. You stand or sit in front of the panel for 10 to 20 minutes — there’s no heat, no pain, and no downtime.

Most patients feel calm and slightly warm during a session. Some notice immediate skin glow; benefits like sleep improvement and muscle recovery typically build over 2 to 6 weeks of consistent use.

How often to come in

For meaningful results, we recommend 3 to 5 sessions per week for the first 4 to 6 weeks. Most patients then drop to 2 to 3 sessions per week for ongoing maintenance.

Members of our Longevity Lounge often build red light into a stacked weekly routine: red light + IV hydration in one visit, or red light + cryotherapy for a recovery-focused stack.

Service area

Photobiomodulation, in Bergen County.

Patients come to the Aesura Longevity Lounge for red light therapy from Hackensack, Paramus, Teaneck, Englewood, Fort Lee, Tenafly, River Edge, Maywood, and across North Jersey — and many find us through searches for “red light therapy near me,” PBM therapy, and infrared panels.

Who should — and shouldn't — use red light

Red light therapy is safe for most adults. We screen for photosensitivity disorders, active skin cancer, recent steroid injections in the area, and pregnancy. Patients on medications that increase photosensitivity (some antibiotics, retinoids, certain cardiac medications) should let us know — we adjust accordingly.

Pair red light with IV infusion.

Red light therapy and IV infusion are a natural pair — both work at the cellular level. We schedule your IV first, then walk you to the red light suite while the infusion runs.

Aesura Longevity Infusion (NAD+)

Mitochondrial support — pairs directly with red light’s cellular mechanism.

Oxidative Recovery Drip

High-dose Vitamin C, Glutathione, Zinc — for systemic anti-inflammatory work.

Neuro Restore Drip

B-complex blend for energy and focus.

Frequently asked

Red light therapy, answered.

The questions Bergen County patients ask before booking.

It works — when the device delivers the right wavelengths at therapeutic irradiance. Most home devices are too weak to produce results in reasonable session times. Our clinical panel delivers a dose backed by published research. Hundreds of peer-reviewed studies support red light therapy for skin, mitochondrial function, recovery, pain, and inflammation.

Wavelength accuracy and irradiance. Cheap home devices often emit the wrong wavelengths or too low an output to be effective in a short session. Our panel is calibrated to therapeutic specs, which is why a 15-minute session here equals what would take an hour or more on a low-end home device.

Tanning beds use UV light, which damages DNA and ages skin. Red light therapy uses red and near-infrared wavelengths that are non-UV, do not tan or burn, and actively support cellular repair.

None. You can return to work, exercise, or a meeting immediately after your session.

Yes. Many of our Longevity Lounge patients do exactly this. A common stack is HBOT followed by red light, or red light followed by cryotherapy. We help you sequence the order based on your goals.

Skin glow can show after the first session. Sleep, recovery, and pain benefits typically build over 2 to 6 weeks of consistent use.

We don’t perform full-body red light therapy on pregnant patients without OB clearance. Research is limited and we err on the side of caution.

We offer single sessions, packages, and Longevity Lounge memberships that bundle red light with IV infusions, HBOT, and cryotherapy at a lower per-visit rate. Pricing is shared during your consultation.
