PRP Hair Restoration Bergen County, NJ
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is a medical treatment for hair loss that utilizes your body’s own blood. A small sample is drawn and spun in a centrifuge to isolate plasma with a high concentration of platelets. This concentrated PRP is then injected directly into the scalp. The platelets release powerful growth factors that stimulate dormant hair follicles, increase local blood supply, and extend the hair’s natural growth phase to promote thicker, denser hair. The board-certified doctors at Aesura Health can help you reach your hair restoration goals with custom PRP hair treatment plans.
WHAT IS PRP HAIR RESTORATION?
WHO IS A CANDIDATE FOR PRP HAIR RESTORATION IN NEW JERSEY?
PRP hair treatment can treat male pattern baldness, female pattern baldness, and thinning hair. Since PRP is naturally derived from the patient’s own blood, there is practically no risk of an allergic reaction, and almost anyone is a candidate. Patients with complete baldness should consider other treatments since PRP is intended to stimulate hair growth from existing hair follicles.
Our In-Office PRP Hair Restoration Treatment
PRP hair restoration is a three-step treatment. 1. Blood is drawn in our office. 2. The patient’s blood will be spun in a centrifuge to separate the PRP from other blood components like red blood cells and blood proteins. 3. Several injections of PRP will be placed in the thinning patches of hair. These injections only take a few minutes and are minimally painful, but the entire procedure takes about one hour.
RECOVERY AFTER PRP HAIR RESTORATION
After PRP treatment, mild bruising, swelling, and discomfort around the injection sites are common but these effects will subside within a few days. To limit the amount of swelling and bruising that occurs, patients should avoid strenuous activity and direct sun exposure or heat for a few days. Use gentle hair products and carefully clean the hair to avoid rubbing the injection sites and damaging the treated hair follicle.
