Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers are another option for targeting wrinkles. These FDA injectable fillers, often composed of Collagen and Hyaluronic acid, are cosmetic treatments that add volume and hydration to the face to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. They help your skin look smoother, fuller, and overall younger. They can also enhance facial features such as lips and cheekbones, and jawline.
Treatment is fast, minimally invasive, targeting areas such as cheeks, nasolabial folds, under eyes, lip lines and more, with minimal recovery time and results that last from 6 months to 1 year. Depending on the treatment, local anesthetic and/or dental blocks may be used before the procedure to minimize discomfort.
Potential side effects: you may experience swelling, redness, tenderness or bruising. Some patients experience a decrease in the filling effect at about 8 weeks as the gel carrier subsides and before their own collagen appears. There is a small incidence of “lumps” occurring after the injection. These can usually be treated and made to go away.
Platelet-rich-plasma (PRP) treatments are a groundbreaking, non-invasive regenerative treatment that utilizes plasma from your own body to enhance tissue healing and encourage growth of new cells. When used as injectables in the face, it promotes collagen and elastin growth and overall rejuvenation of your skin.
